Embracing Pain

Eddies of dust swirled in my
half-bright room,
As usual, embracing the pain and cursing
my own life,
I have begun another gloomy day.....

Pain has become a significant
friend of mine,
with every breath I take,
a new pain embraces me,
with every tear-drops I shed,
an essence of pain emerges..

Happiness is an impossible
mission to me,
All the jolly moments,
I have experienced..
has faded away ...
in the dark clouds of sadness..
the only thing I can elucidate is ...
my misery and despair.

Everything around me is a bunkum,
agile minded, selfish people:
they are more sympathetic than me,
you know why?
because I can embrace pain by myself,
can croon a sentimental tune
about my sufferings,
which they cannot....do

This is my aphorism,
a long experience from
the sleepless nights
due to anxiety
more importantly ...it is
the pain that has
embraced me
and me living a

Port Washington, NY (Vocus/PRWEB ) April 13, 2010 -- With Circuit City out of the picture for a year now, the change in the consumer electronics retail landscape has been concentrated around two retailers, Best Buy and Walmart. According to leading market research company The NPD Group's new report New Look at Retail: Post Circuit City, Best Buy and Walmart captured two-thirds of Circuit City's total dollar share during the March-December period in 2009 when Circuit City was no longer in business.

Best Buy extended its lead in U.S. retail in some of the industry's most important product segments. Best Buy's dollar share in flat-panel TVs increased by more than five points as its position as the only national electronics retail chain allowed it to make especially strong gains in the premium priced over $1000 TV market. Walmart also gained presence in the TV category as a result of the Circuit City closing. Flat-panel TVs was Walmart's best performing category in overall share gains among the top categories after Circuit City left the market.

PCs were another bright spot for both retailers. Best Buy firmly established itself as the dominant 3rd party seller of computers in the U.S., with a large part of its gains coming through its Web site. Walmart saw its year-over-year share growth increase faster in notebooks than any other category.

Digital cameras was another strong area of growth for Best Buy which increased dollar share just as much in digital cameras as it did in notebook PCs. Walmart saw its dollar share climb above its previous levels during the crucial fourth quarter of 2009.

"As its nearest competitor, both in store locations and in consumer perception, Best Buy was certain to be the big beneficiary from Circuit City's closure," said Stephen Baker, vice president of industry analysis at NPD. "However, with the closures coming at the same time as an economic recession, tumbling ASPs in both PCs and TVs, and Walmart's renewed focus on consumer technology as a growth opportunity, it is not surprising that Walmart also managed to grow its share during this period."

While Walmart has traditionally has its highest market share in the South, Best Buy was also able to make significant gains in that region as the retail landscape changed. Walmart increased its dollar share by two percentage points, while Best Buy gained four percentage points in the southern U.S.

"We expect that in 2010 all retail channels will focus on their share growth opportunity in technology as new products, a better economy, and renewed consumer interest deliver an exciting sales outlook for the remainder of the year," stated Baker.

Methodology:
The data used in New Look at Retail: Post Circuit City was collected from NPD's Consumer Tracking Service. NPD's online panel consists of more than 1.8 million registered adults and NPD information is based on responses from nationally representative samples of panelists, and results are demographically balanced.

The first part of Walmart's three-phase plan--a 15-question survey asking its top suppliers to pony up info on the current state of their sustainability efforts--was completed in October. Walmart began meeting with vendors, industry by industry, to discuss the next steps last month, and scientists are now starting trials to get a handle on what this labeling system might look like. "We're on the cusp of a major transition in the marketplace of what consumers demand to know and producers have to tell," says Dara O'Rourke, CEO of GoodGuide, which independently rates the health, safety, and environmental impact of 50,000 consumer products. Even though Walmart execs have said that its index won't be ready before 2013, the early discussions reveal just how roiling this initiative will be.

Although Walmart is framing its Sustainability Index as something positive for both consumers and companies, Matt Kistler, senior vice president of sustainability, acknowledges that "it is creating a new level of competition in ways that, historically, manufacturers have not competed. And when it comes down to it, it's going to be an algorithm that creates a score, and it will reward some suppliers better than others." Consumers won't be the only ones selecting or snubbing products based on their scores; Kistler confirms that high-scoring products will earn preferential treatment--and likely more shelf space--in Walmart stores.

Last October's survey added to companies' concerns. It touched on everything from investments in community-development activities to water-use-reduction targets, and "there's a wide variance of how prepared suppliers are to answer these questions," says Kyle Tanger, president and CEO of carbon-management firm ClearCarbon, who guided a number of companies through the questionnaire. More than 1,000 companies responded, according to Kistler, "the vast majority" of those asked. That said, analysts estimate that just 10% of Walmart suppliers are prepared to measure and report their sustainability.

To persuade 100,000-plus firms to spend the time and money tracking and lessening their environmental impact--and to get buy-in from the scientific community and the government--Walmart has tried to minimize its own influence over the project. It created an independent Sustainability Consortium, and while the Bentonville behemoth has a seat at the table, so do NGOs, government agencies, suppliers, other retailers, and researchers. "This has to be more than Walmart or it won't achieve standardization," says Jay Golden, codirector of the Sustainability Consortium, who has worked in environmental enforcement at the federal and state levels and has a PhD in sustainable engineering.

The consortium has attracted everyone from Monsanto to Disney, Seventh Generation to the EPA. To help manufacturers innovate more quickly and cheaply and to make life-cycle assessment an easier feat, it is currently developing a tool called Earthster. The open platform will pool existing databases and models, then tap participants to share data and research so companies can mine ideas.

But companies are just beginning to grapple with the big questions. "One fear is figuring out who gets to prioritize the different pieces of sustainability," says Karen Hamilton, VP of vitality and environment at Unilever, a consortium member. "Who's to decide if greenhouse-gas emissions are more pressing than water conservation?"

The labels could be designed so that consumers would be the ultimate decision makers. "We've been thinking of nutritional labels as a proxy," Kistler says, with carbon emissions, water use, and solid waste displayed like calories, fat, and sodium. Other ideas being considered: a minimum-standard, organic-style seal; a terror-alert-style color code (level-orange dish soap!); and a 100-point scale for judging a 26-point breakfast cereal against a 73-point one.

Chemical-intensive products (such as household cleansers), electronics, and food will be the first three trial categories this winter; the consortium will attempt to apply scoring and solicit feedback. "We thought about doing this in a traditional, academic fashion, picking one category and studying it to the nth degree, but as a society we can't take a long time to get it 100% spot-on," Golden says. Gannon Jones, VP of portfolio marketing at Frito-Lay, says, "There's definitely the hope that the Sustainability Index can help shoppers compare companies' level of commitment and push manufacturers."

More bluntly: When every package is awash in claims of using less plastic and water, a standardized measure would separate sustainability lightweights from products that truly deserve their green halo.

Love, a simple four letter word that is so pure and complete in itself. Something that everyone desires, few lucky ones find it, most don't but one thing is for sure, everyone needs it. I am a strong believer in love and for me love comes ahead of everything else. I can talk intellectually, think with my grey matter seriously but when it comes to love I can become a complete fool. But being a fool in love never bothered me. For me love is unconditional and my friends laugh at me for the very same reason. They think I live in a fantasy world which never exists but for me it is as real as my very own existence.

I believed in my dreams and I knew I would find her some day. One of my friends once told me "You don't have to search for your love, it will be a divine accident and your heart will know her". Life may be tough but it is love that makes it living worthwhile. You may not get everything you want in life but that doesn't stop you from loving someone. Love should not be your support; it should be your strength. It should not give you pain; it should fill your life with joy. Miles apart I can see her watching the sunset and thinking about me. Huge explosion in Sarpang, 4 killed and 2 wounded

Gelephu, December 31: A huge blast from a detonator planted underground on the road near Singay village in Sarpang district claimed the lives of four injuring two yesterday.

Department of forest mentioned that those who met the scene were foresters were on a tractor, which was massively blown up early morning.

Locals in Singay village reported that several rounds of gun-fire were heard early 3 am.

"The attackers fired us mercilessly," said one of the injured victims in Gelephu hospital adding, "They looted SLR and some mobile sets."

Underground group owns up Sarpang blast

January 1: An underground armed group called United Revolutionary Front of Bhutan (URFB) has taken the responsibility of massive explosion in Sarpang on December 30.

Unlike what the regime reported, URFB circulated a release stating that it attacked armed police force personnel at Singay village in Sarpang district and looted arms and ammunition. The government media earlier reported that those killed by the blast were all foresters.

The release signed by its chief commander Karma said that the attack killed five on the spot and wounded dozens of Bhutanese army personnels.

Bhutan wins first, loses second match

New Delhi, December 16: Bhutan could not repeat its opening-day success and went down to a nine-wicket loss to Nepal in the U19 Women Cricket at the Chiang Mai Gymkhana, Thailand on Sunday.
On the opening day, Bhutan woman tasted success in their first outing in international cricket when the team beat Singapore by 14 runs in the Asian Cricket Council's inaugural match on the same ground.
Bhutan's 101 was the highest total of the opening day, with Ugyen Dema scoring along 17.
On the second match, no Bhutanese batsman managed double figures and limped to 34 off their 25 overs. Coach Damber S Gurung praised Nepal's performance but not of his team.

BACC postpones its convention

The Bhutanese American Community Center (BACC), citing amendment in its bylaws, has postponed its forthcoming convention from this December until 2010.
A release issued from California said the decision was announced following the first amendment of the organization bylaws by its board of directors on December 17.
"We decided not to hold a convention any time soon, pertaining to the pressing needs of the rapidly growing community", said the statement.
Its executive director Ananta Gurung said that BACC has been successful in establishing strong relationships with various organizations in the bay area within a short span of time.

11 December, 2008 - “Our leaders should remember that acting tough is more important than talking tough.”
Said the chairman of the anti-corruption commission (ACC), Aum Neten, on Tuesday after she launched International Anti-Corruption Day in Thimphu.Among the audience were 500 runners, who were participating in ACC’s marathon “Run against Corruption” week, from December 9-17, to mark the day.
Colonel Chencho Dorji of the royal Bhutan bodyguard, who had recently undergone an operation on his legs, participated in the marathon to stand up against corruption.
Nine-year old Thimphu student Kinlay Wangmo said that corruption, such as misuse of government funds, should be eradicated “for a better tomorrow for Bhutanese youth”.
“Creating awareness on corruption is a must to clean up the country,” said a businessman from Paro, Wangda Tobgyal, who drove to Thimphu to participate in the run.
Runners came from all walks of life. Some were as young as seven and others as old as 68. Elders had to run 5 km and women 7 km. The rest ran the whole 10 km.
Winners were mostly from the armed force, the royal bodyguard and the royal Bhutan army.
Aum Neten said that Bhutan presently ranked 9th in Asia-Pacific and 45th in the world amongst cleanest countries. But, she said, it was not a proud feeling as Bhutan had the ability to be the cleanest.
Aum Neten said people must culturally and behaviourally change and that the “people’s will” to act was the important resource, rather than the funds of the government, in tackling corruption.
Ap Kinlay, a farmer from Ramtogto, was the chief guest and awarded prizes to marathon winners. He also gave away participation certificates to the 35 veterans, who included the speaker, ministers, MP’s and senior government officials.
The media spokesperson for ACC, Kesang Jamtsho, said that Ap Kinlay was chosen as the chief guest because the government’s main aim was to render services to people and farmers were the ultimate beneficiaries.
The UNDP resident representative, Bakhodir Burkhanov, who attended the prize ceremony, said: “In many countries, anti-corruption initiatives are difficult to come to the fore because of lack of political will and leadership. But, here in Bhutan, we’re fortunate to have commitment from the highest level.”
“Corruption affects us all. It weakens democratic institutions, undermines the rule of law, and poisons the vital links that keep societies together,” said Bakhodir Burkhanov.

Is Bhutan’s tobacco ban going the US prohibition way?

11 December, 2008 - Within 2008, cigarettes worth Nu 1.3 million were confiscated, according to officials from the regional revenue and customs office (RRCO) in Phuentsholing, which is the highest seizure since the ban on sale of tobacco products in 2004.The value was calculated based on market value and the retail price.
The latest consignment was confiscated on December 4 from a truck. Officials seized cigarettes worth Nu 22,000.
“We were suspicious and followed the truck, where it was parked in a workshop, and found the item,” said Dorji Khandu, a customs inspector.
The driver of the truck confessed that the contraband belong to him.
“This is my first time trying to smuggle and I’ve failed,” he said.
Seizures picked up some time in June this year, with effective mobile duty and inspection, according to the joint commissioner, Phuenthsoling RRCO, Wangchuk Thayey.
According to him, smuggling of cigarettes could not be stopped because suppliers from Jaigaon and buyers in Thimphu had their own ways and means.
“Our sources say that buyers don’t come to Phuentsholing and, if the product is confiscated, there’s no risk for the buyer. However it isn’t confirmed,” said the joint commissioner.
It is said that if cigarettes get through and reach Thimphu, the profit is shared between the buyer in Thimphu and the supplier, while the drivers are paid carrying commissions.
According to sources, most cigarette smugglers were vegetable vendors and truck drivers, while the biggest demand came from Thimphu.

Camp elections scheduled

The exiled Bhutanese above 18 years of age will elect their sub-sector chiefs who in turn will elect the secretaries and administrators.

Representatives for health, relief distribution, counseling and security agencies will also be elected.

King interferes into politics again

Thimphu, December 12: Despite the announcement that kings will now have no role in national politics and administration, cozying up for a ceremonial role, King Jigme Khesar has return to hold grip on national politics.
In a recent decree issued, he asked the Election Commission and its chief to extend the tenure of the Gups or the block headman, until legal provisions are read to hold elections for those positions.
Government mulled over holding early elections for gup as their three-year term ends shortly against which the National Council members approached the king to take lead in interfering the government decision.
King told the CEC to halt the gup elections until it completes the delimitation process and finalizes relevant acts under which the elections are to be held.
King said this step would best serve the interest of the people, nation and democracy.
King said the recently announced Gup elections to be held as per acts that have been repealed and which in fundamental ways are contrary to the provisions of the Constitution, will not draw any legitimacy even as an interim measure.

Young people from the Bhutanese refugee population in Nepal have staged an exhibition in Kathmandu to demonstrate their art and photography skills and highlight their difficulties.
Basudev Osti, Rinchin Tamang and Rebika Bhandari, all aged 17, have grown up in the seven camps that are home to more than 100,000 refugees in south-east Nepal.
They have no memories of Bhutan, as their families came here around 1990 after the Bhutanese government stripped them of their citizenship or forced them out because of their protests against new nationalistic regulations.
The refugees are almost entirely Nepali-speakers who lived in the south of the reclusive Buddhist kingdom.
Bhutan has not admitted a single one back.

The year 2008 will be remembered as the first global financial crisis of the 21st century -- a once-in-a-lifetime crisis. Mortgage-backed securities and subprime borrowers in the US economy have been blamed for the current economic turmoil. Although high default rates and a sharp rise in delinquency have been held responsible for the havoc, the world still needs empirical evidence to correctly diagnose the matter.
In the United Kingdom, falling output has been blamed for the credit crunch, plummeting housing prices and rising energy costs. The way the British economy has contracted for the first time in 16 years indicates that the recession will inevitably continue, a period marked by a decline in trade and the economy, reduced profits for companies and closure of factories. It is almost certain that the economic downturn will last longer than expected. Usually, a recession lasts from six to 18 months if fiscal and monetary stimulus plans are put in place to offer loans at lower interest rates.
As mortgage-backed assets have lost their value, it is anticipated that banks and financial institutions in the world are likely to lose US$ 1 trillion from the credit crunch. There has been a dramatic decline in US housing prices for the first time since the 1930s. Big lenders are dangerously exposed to the high-risk loans market.

In Brazil, government-owned institutions have been asked to purchase shares in private financial institutions. The Canadian government has earmarked US$ 21 billion for asset swaps. In Mexico, US$ 3.92 billion has been offered in loan guarantees for debt refinancing. Australia cut the interest rate by one percent and China by 0.27 percentage point. Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and other countries have made immediate stimulus plans. Thanks to globalisation, not a single country has been left unaffected.
Nepal has a comfortable level of foreign currency reserves. Since the country's economy is integrated with India's, how badly Nepal will suffer depends on the performance of India's contingency plans. Instances of foreign institutional investors withdrawing foreign reserves from the Indian capital market have occurred. However, the recent rise in share values on the New York Stock Exchange presents a ray of hope. The Reserve Bank of India's standard regulation and meticulous supervision have been successful in maintaining capital adequacy requirements by prohibiting financial institutions from exceeding the given limits of exposure to the stock market.
In Nepal, the banking sector has made impressive progress. The interest rate spread is comparable to that in neighbouring countries. Banks are holding more funds than they are required to. The foreign exchange reserve presently stands at Rs. 177 billion, and the cash reserve of the commercial banks with Nepal Rastra Bank amounts to Rs. 24 billion.
Nepal is not directly connected to the troubled financial institutions abroad. From this perspective, there is no immediate threat to Nepal's financial regime. The closer the link, the grater the possibility of being affected. In terms of merchandise trade, about 80 percent of Nepal's readymade garments are exported to the US. Germany is the largest market for Nepal's carpets. This means that delayed financial recovery in these countries can have a negative impact on Nepal's export trade.
The crisis will also have a significant impact on the country's tourism sector. The US accounts for 5.9 percent and Europe for 25.7 percent of the total tourist arrivals in Nepal. Besides resulting in a fall in tourist arrivals, the credit crunch in these countries will certainly affect export trade, foreign investment and overseas development assistance.
Because of shrinking demand, there has been a massive slide in commodity prices on the global market. This translates into easy and cost effective access to industrial raw materials which can support the manufacturing sector and control inflation. The depreciation of the Nepali rupee against the US dollar should have a positive impact on exports, remittances and also tourism. But depreciation is also expected to increase the budget deficit by Rs. 1.9 billion in additional debt servicing burdens.
There is no record of the level of investments made by Nepali investors in India's capital markets with money borrowed from Nepal's financial institutions. India's share market index has declined by six thousand points between October 2007 and October 2008. The losers, if there are any, could default on repayments to Nepali banks.
Countries have different priorities. Victims of the global crisis are now working on limiting the damage than investigating its cause. In my opinion, Nepal's policymakers should now get ready to assess the loan portfolios of commercial banks. A rough estimate shows that real estate lending makes up about 10 percent of total lending. However, it is frightening to see that some banks with adequate liquidity have lent a significant portion of their money to real estate businesses. For example, the average loan exposure of the top three banks in terms of investment in real estate stands at almost 31 percent of their total lending volume. The authorities need to look into this seriously.
Remittances have increased by 42.5 percent this year and reached approximately Rs. 142 billion. It contributes 17.4 per cent of the GDP. The government should design and establish a special support fund to rescue overseas workers who could be displaced if there is a crisis in the countries where they are employed. This should be the approach in an inclusive democracy

Japan is the first country in the world to show that a sustainable national economic growth is possible through maintaining quality. The notion of quality first, productivity follows and profit is its logical sequence expressed by many business houses of Japan in the 1960s helped the country attain a continuous national economic growth of two digits for nearly three decades. Later, when the Western countries adopted this philosophy of 'quality first', their economic growth also increased. The white-crane syndrome of the philosophy then began to evolve in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, and later, in the 1990s, in other newly industrialised countries of South-East Asian.
From the turn of the century, China and India are exhibiting similar stupendous growth rates as those countries. They are also applying the same strong notion of 'quality first' as the prime movers in all respect. The issues of quality strategy to cope with new environment and the aims and goals considered are derived from the stakeholder model of quality.
At the micro level, an organization strives to develop its competitiveness by enhancing quality and productivity. Similarly, at the macro level, the national economic growth depends on the strategy the nation takes towards the direction of increasing competitiveness of all social and economic sectors through quality and productivity. Some Western critics have written about Japan Inc. and Singapore Inc. They draw analogies between these countries and incorporated companies adopting the strategy of 'coopetitiveness' (Cooperation and Competition) and collaboration, that is, the government and private sector working together for their overall respective developments. The strategy is an extended version of the stakeholder model of quality at the macro level. The nation accepting the concept of building relationships among all stakeholders to take an overall win-win strategy for creating synergy for national development will definitely achieve its economic developmental goals.
It is difficult, but it is absolutely important to understand the concept of the stakeholder model and to accept the strategy of networking for building relationships between all social and economic stakeholders in the country for economic development.
Looking from the quality perspective, the social and economic sectors of a country can be listed as; agriculture sector, manufacturing sector, financial sector, infrastructure and utility sector, health sector, education sector, and social development sector. Whereas, the major players and partners of these sectors are always -- government policymakers and administrators as regulators and facilitators, private business houses as investors and operators --civil societies as watch dogs, facilitators and motivators, and individuals as producers, service providers as well as consumers.
It is indeed an arduous task to establish correct interconnection among the different stakeholders for national development activities by conceiving quality as the prime mover. The aims and purposes of different stakeholders may be different and sometimes conflicting. We have to identify them and properly understand the conflicting differences. If we were to focus on a win-win strategy whereby all stakeholders are to benefit, which no doubt is a prime mission of any quality movement; it is possible to intensify the economic growth we are talking about. This is what we call 'networking for quality'.

मानिसलाई काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह र अहंकारले जे पनि बनाउन सक्छ र मान्छे बन्न तयार पनि हुन्छ । निहितालाई कुन कुराले आफू भन्दा ४४ वर्षजेठो एक कुख्यात अपराधी पुरुषस“ग प्रेम गर्न प्रेरित गरायो - यसको सा“चो जवाफ त निहितामात्र दिन सक्छिन् । मेरो विचारमा निहिताजस्तो नवजवान युवती जो शिक्षित र सुन्दरी छिन् । आफ्नो भविष्य र क्यारियरलाई अगाडि बढाउन एक अपराधी वृद्ध पुरुषको सहारा लिइरहनर्ुपर्छ जस्तो लाग्दैन ।
यस अर्थमा निहिताको प्रेम र रोजाइ असामान्य हो भन्न जोसुकैलाई कर लाग्छ । शोभराजलाई थुप्रै किशोरी, युवती र महिला भेट्न आउ“थे । निहिता स्वयम्ले पनि एक अन्तर्वार्तामा भनेकी थिइन् । शोभराजलाई हजारौं युवती भेट्न आउ“थे । जसमा शोभराजले मलाई मनपराएर प्रेम गरे । मलाई गम्भीर अचम्म लागेको छ- शोभराज हलिवुड, बलिवुड र कलिवुडको कुनै सुपर स्टार त होइन नि -
आर्थिक तथा सामाजिक सुरक्षा र नया“ जीवनशैलीका लागि युवतीले परिपक्व मानिस मनपराउन थालेको अध्ययनहरूले देखाएको छ । हो, प्रेमबारे जतिसुकै आदर्शका कुरा भए पनि व्यावहारिक जीवनमा टिकाउ हुन सा“च्चै गाह्रो छ । मेरो विचारमा दाम्पत्य जीवनको टिकाउ होस् । श्रीमानले सधैं माया गरुन् भन्ने मुख्य उद्देश्य हो । उहिलेका आमाबाबुहरू आफ्ना कन्यालाई पाको उमेरका पुरुषलाई बिहे गर्दिन्थे । यसको उद्देश्य पनि आर्थिक तथा सामाजिक सुरक्षाकै लागि हुन्थ्यो । त्यतिखेर छोरीलाई पढाइ“दैन थियो । परम्परा र संस्कारका नाममा आफ्नै घरभित्र महिलाहरू शोषित-पीडित थिए । यस अर्थमा कमजोर छोरीलाई पाको उमेरका पुरुषस“ग बिहे गर्दिनुको पछाडि आर्थिक र सामाजिक सुरक्षाका लागि थियो । अब समय फेरिएको छ । निहिताजस्ती चेतनशील आधुनिक युवतीले आर्थिक तथा सामाजिक सुरक्षा र नया“ जीवनशैलीकै खातिर आफूभन्दा ४४ वर्षजेठो पुरुषलाई रोज्न जरुरी थिएन ।
कुनै पनि आमाले आफ्नी छोरीको भविष्य सुखी होस् भन्ने चाहनु उसको धर्म हो । यस अर्थमा निहिताकी आमाले आफ्नी छोरीको सुखद भविष्यको परिकल्पना गरेकी छिन् भन्ने कुरामा शंका गर्ने ठाउ“ छैन । तर छोरीभन्दा ४४ वर्षा जेठो त्यसमाथि अपराधीको रूपमा बन्दी जीवन बिताउ“दै गरेका पुरुषस“ग अधिवक्तासमेत रहेकी निहिताकी आमा शकुन्तला थापाले शोभराजलाई कसरी ज्वाइ“को रूपमा परिकल्पना गर्नसकेकी - अझ उनले त विवाहका लागि आफैं पहलसमेत गरेकी छिन् । मेरो विचारमा शकुन्तला थापा एकमात्र त्यस्ती आमा होलिन्- जसले आफ्नो २० वर्षी छोरीले आफूभन्दा ४४ वर्षजेठो शोभराजजस्तो अपराधीस“गको पे्रममा साथ दिइरहेकी छिन् । निहिताको प्रेम र रोजाइप्रति एकपटक उनकी आमाले विचार पुर्‍याउने हो कि -

चौतारीगाउ“ र्फकंदैनन् नेता

चुनाव जितेर जानुभएको कति भयो र - भर्खर सात महिना त भयो नि - यति चा“डै गाउ“ र्फकंदा गाउ“का मानिसहरू छक्क पर्लान्- हाम्रा नेतालाई के भएछ र चा“डै गाउ“ आएछन् भनेर । कि रक्षामन्त्री रामबहादुर थापा -बादल) र सञ्चारमन्त्री कृष्णबहादुर महरा खासा छिरेजस्तै सुटुक्कै गाउ“ पो आउने हो कि र्सवसाधारणको हालखबर बुझ्न सभासदज्यूहरू । त्यो पनि केही दिनका लागि प्रतीक्षा गरौं । नया“ नेपालका नेताहरूको गाउ“ छिर्ने तरिका नया“ पनि त हुन सक्छ नि ।
हुन त यतिबेला सभासदहरूलाई भ्याइनभ्याई छ । सभासद जयपुरी र्घर्तीलाई यतिबेला आफ्ना कार्यकर्ताको राहदानीको सिफारिस गर्दैमा फर्ुसद छैन । कोही बैठक बस्यो कि रोस्टम र्घर्ेन थाल्छन्, कोही जुहारी खेल्न, कोही आन्दोलनमा जाने तयारीमा, कोही देश-विदेशको भ्रमणमा । एक्लै सबै मन्त्रीको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्दै संसद्को बैठकमा ढुक्कसाथ बस्ने गर्नु हुन्छ ।
राजधानीमा नै छ, भएजति सेवा सुविधा, मोटर गाढी, फाइभ स्टार होटल, अनि मानिसको भीडभाड । त्यसैले अन्त गएर भाषण गर्ने कुरै भएन । कहँ“ काठमाडौंमात्र बसेका छौं भन्ने प्रश्न उठ्न सक्छ । केही महिनाअघि प्रधानमन्त्री पुष्पकमल दाहाल -प्रचण्ड) चीन गएर आउनुभयो, अमेरिका पनि छिर्नुभयो, भारत नछिर्ने कुरै भएन । गा“ठी कुरा त्यही छ । अर्थमन्त्री बाबुराम भट्टर्राई पनि अमेरिका पुगेर केही साताअघि नेपाल र्फकनुभयो ।
'चुनाव जितेर गएपछि नेता गाउ“ फर्केनन्, के संविधान लेख्ला माथि लडाइ“ गरेर मर्न लागे' सल्लेरी-७ की छिन्ही ल्हमु शर्ेपाले भनिन् । जिल्लामा भएका समस्याहरू राख्न मन लागे पनि सात महिनासम्म नेता गाउ“का र्सवसाधारणस“ग जनसर्म्पर्कमा नआउ“दा दुःख लागेको शर्ेपाले बताइन् । 'केन्द्रमै लडाइ“ गरेर मर्न लागे कता गाउ“ आउनु' काँगेल-५ र्राई गाउ“का कान्ति थुलुङले भने । चुनाव जितेर गएको सात महिना भयो तर नेताहरूको गाउ“ र्फकने अत्तोपत्तो छैन र्राईले थपे ।
विदेश जान त“छाड-मछाड गर्ने नेताहरू आफ्नै गाउ“मा किन नआउलान् । फेरि देशको नया“ संविधान कोर्ने बेला जनभावनालाई समेट्ने, समावेशी संविधान निर्माणमा जनताको भावनाको कदर गर्नुपर्छ भन्ने कुरा उठिरहेका बेला । संविधानमा जनताको आवाजको प्रतिनिधित्व संविधानसभाद्वारा भएको छ वा छैन भनी जानकारी लिनु समग्र र्सवसाधारण जनताको सरोकारकै विषय हो ।
'जिल्लाबाट कतिजना सभासद छन् । कुन-कुन पार्टर्ीीट को-को छन् अझै हामी कन्फ्युज छौं,' नेले-७ का प्रभुराम बस्नेतले भने । हार्नेले राजनीति छोड्ने भए, जित्नेले केन्द्र तोड्ने भए । सभासद कतिजना को-को भन्ने विषयमा विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलका नेताहरूको चासो बढ्नुपर्ने, जनतालाई जानकारी गराउनुपर्नेमा सेलाएको छ । जिल्लास्थित राजनीतिक दलको चहलपहल चुनावअघि गम्किए पनि चुनावपछि सुस्ताएको छ । सुस्ताएको हर्ेदा लाग्छ चुनाव हार्नेको देश निर्माणमा उत्तरदायित्व नै सकियो । यदि जिम्मेवारी र उत्तरदायित्व बहन गर्ने राजनीतिक पार्टर्ीी नेता भए सा“च्चै जिल्लाका सभासद चिन्न जनतालाई गाह्रो पर्ने थिएन होला ।
चुनावअघि नेताहरूको गाउ“ भ्रमण राम्रै भयो । आचारसहिंताले बोल्ने कुरा पनि बोले नबोल्ने कुरा पनि बोले । नेताका फोटो र पम्प्लेट एकमाथि अर्को देखिन्थे । गाउ“मा कार्यक्रम र सभा गर्ने ठाउ“ हु“दैन थियो । एकै स्थानमा कार्यक्रम जुझ्दा झडप भएर ज्यानसमेत गएको थियो । एक अर्कालाई गर्ने गाली गलौज सुनेर र्सवसाधारणहरू वाक्क भएका थिए । 'संविधानसभाको चुनावअघि सभासदहरूले जिल्लावासीसामु गरेका प्रतिबद्धताहरू कतिहदसम्म संविधानसभामा कार्यान्वयन पक्षमा लैजान सफल भए भन्ने जानकारी पनि जिल्लावासी जनताले पाएका छैनन्,' गार्मा-८ का दावातेन्जी लामाले भने । चुनावअघि गाउ“-गाउ“ भोट माग्दै हि“ड्ने नेताहरू चुनाव जितेपछि गाउ“ फर्केका छैनन् । चुनावअघि नेताहरू सहर जा“दैनन् । चुनावपछि नेताहरू गाउ“ आउ“दैनन् ।
जिल्लाबाट विजयी भएर गएका सभासदहरू संविधानसभाको निर्वाचनपछि एकपटक पनि गाउ“ फर्केका छैनन् । जिल्लाका र्सवसाधारणस“ग भेटघाट र छलफल त टाढै भयो, मतदातालाई बिर्सर्ेेतो छ । भोट माग्ने बेला नचिन्ने मान्छे पनि चिनेका हुन्छन्, नदेखेको मान्छे पनि देखेझैं गर्छन् । चुनाव सकियो मतदाता त टाढै भयो गाउ“ जाने कुराको अत्तोपत्तो छैन । सभासदहरूले भत्ता पाएकै छन् । मतदाताले भत्ता खाने र सत्तामा पुर्‍याउने काम गरेकै छन् । मुलुकको नया“ संविधान लेख्न पठाएका सभासदहरू अरू केही नगरे पनि बेलाबेलामा संसद् बैठक अवरुद्ध गर्ने, जुहारी खेल्ने, टीकाटिप्पणी गर्ने काममा भने साह्रै व्यस्त र खप्पिस छन् । यसरी लागिपर्ने हो भने नया“ संविधानमा पनि जनताका आवाज अटाउला भन्न सकिन्न । किनभने सात महिनामात्र त भयो सभासदहरूले जिल्लावासी नागरिकहरूलाई नभेटेको ।

Doria Bramanta,
She is an American lady,Journalism is her profession.
She went Nepal to look Bhutanese Refugees and their processing by
IOM.She is from New Hampshire,the state i am living.She comes visiting
us often and help us physically and mentally in our establishment in new
world.She with her friend are preparing a documentary flim regarding we
the Bhutanese Refugees.She also visited resettled Bhutanese in other state
of the US.She is raising voice for our betterment through her writing.
Hope we will get established and thanks for people who helped like Doria did.
